Guardianship Program

 We love our Guardian families and consider them a vital part of the True Heart Cavaliers family! Pups selected for our program live with their Guardian families as cherished pets, while we retain ownership during their breeding career. Girls are typically retired at age 5 after roughly three litters, and boys may stay active for up to 6 years; at that point, full ownership is joyfully transferred to the Guardian. Guardians are responsible for routine vet care and maintenance, while we happily cover all breeding-related expenses, including health certifications and all whelping costs. When it is time for a litter, our girls spend their pregnancy in the comfort of their Guardian's home, return to us just a week before their due date to raise their puppies, and head back home as soon as the babies are weaned. Guardians are always welcome to visit once the puppies are 2–3 weeks old and are invited to join us on Go-Home-Day to see the wonderful, positive impact they have made. Guardian Home Responsibilities

• Provide a safe, loving, permanent home.
• Cover routine pet expenses, including food, grooming, and regular veterinary care.
• Make the dog available for health testing and breeding when needed.
• Females return to us about one week before whelping and remain with us until their puppies are fully weaned. Females are bred a maximum of three times.
• Males are made available for scheduled breeding's as needed.

What We Provide

• Your puppy at no purchase price.
• All breeding-related expenses, including reproductive care and spay/neuter at retirement.

To qualify as a Guardian Home, you must:

• Live within 2 hours of Katy, Texas. 
• Provide a safe, loving, lifelong home. 
• Have a securely fenced yard. 
• Commit to basic obedience training and proper socialization. 
• Feed our recommended diet (Royal Canin). 
• Keep your dog at a healthy weight and up to date on routine veterinary care and preventatives. 
• Notify us promptly of any illness, injury, or major health concerns. 
• Be available for scheduled health testing and breeding appointments. 
• Maintain regular communication with True Heart Cavaliers and provide updates on your dog's health and development. 
• Understand that this is a partnership. We provide the puppy/adult dog at no purchase cost in exchange for your participation in our breeding program and your commitment to fulfilling the responsibilities of a Guardian Home.

 Guardian Homes are selected carefully. Not all applicants will be approved, as our priority is finding the best lifelong homes for our dogs.
